Terms of Use
Last updated: October 4, 2026
These terms set out the rules for using the iPhone app “Shirushicho (印帖)” (the “App”) provided by Shusaku Umemoto (the “Operator”). By downloading or using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these terms.
This is an English translation of the Japanese terms of use. If the two versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.
01These terms and Apple’s license agreement
In addition to these terms, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) applies to the App. If these terms and the EULA conflict, the EULA prevails.
02Plans
- Ume plan
- Free to use with no time limit. No account registration is required.
- Take plan
- A paid, auto-renewing subscription. It costs ¥450 per month or ¥3,800 per year (tax included) and supports Family Sharing.
On either plan, there is no limit on the number of books. Each book is complete at 20 pages, and you start the next one (on the Take plan, you can make the number of pages per book unlimited in Settings). On the Ume plan, sharing the app with a friend also unlocks more cover patterns. Prices and plan contents may change.
03Take plan payment and cancellation
- Purchases, payments, and cancellations are made through the App Store and follow Apple’s rules.
- First-time subscribers can try it free for 7 days. When the free period ends, the subscription continues at the monthly or yearly price you chose.
- A Share-with-a-friend offer code is redeemed in the App Store. It makes the first month of the monthly plan free for people newly starting the Take plan. It follows the 7-day free trial, and when it ends the subscription renews automatically at the monthly price.
- Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription renews automatically for the next period.
- To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, and go to “Subscriptions.” Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. The Operator cannot issue refunds.
04When you stop the Take plan
If you stop the Take plan, the records you have kept and the looks you have chosen stay as they are. Take plan features (such as iCloud sync, automatic backups, and adding a second or later photo to the back of a card) can no longer be newly used once the period ends.
05Managing your records
Your records are kept only on your iPhone and, if you sync with the Take plan, in your own iCloud. Because the Operator does not run servers or hold your records, the Operator cannot restore records that have been lost.
Please keep copies of important records by exporting them or using backups.
06Taking and sharing photos at temples, shrines, and castles
When you photograph goshuin or temple and shrine grounds, or show the images to others, follow the rules of each temple, shrine, or castle. Some places do not allow photography or publishing.
07Information about temples, shrines, and castles
The names, locations, and detailed information about temples, shrines, and castles shown in the App are created from sources such as OpenStreetMap, government open data, and Wikipedia. We cannot guarantee that this content is accurate or up to date. Before you go, please check visiting hours and whether goshuin are offered with each temple, shrine, or castle.
08Prohibited conduct
When using the App, please do not:
- Violate laws or public order
- Infringe the rights of others (such as copyrights, portrait rights, or privacy)
- Copy, modify, or redistribute the App, or analyze it by reverse engineering or similar means (except where permitted by law)
- Interfere with the App working correctly
09Rights
Copyrights and other rights in the App and this website belong to the Operator or to those who provided the materials. Rights in the images you take and the records you write belong to you.
10Changes to the App and end of service
The Operator may change the contents of the App or stop providing it. Before the App is discontinued, we will give notice on this website or in the App.
11Limitation of liability
The Operator makes efforts to keep the App working correctly but cannot promise that it is free of defects or suitable for your purposes. The Operator is not liable for any damage you incur from using the App, except where caused by the Operator’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
12Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. If you use the App after the change, you are deemed to have agreed to the new terms.
13Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
